No image file is needed. The calculator changes numbers only; it does not resize images or edit metadata. PPI and printer DPI are different quantities.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use DPI / Pixels / Print Size Converter

  1. Choose which quantity to calculate: print size, pixel dimensions or image PPI.
  2. Enter both width and height and choose the physical size unit. Supply image PPI when requested; no device density is guessed.
  3. Review exact results and any whole-pixel rounding. PPI calculations report both axes and flag aspect-ratio mismatch.
  4. Copy the result or download a TXT report. Clear releases the main entered value and result; category shortcuts open other converters.

Why use this tool?

All calculations run locally in your browser. Your values are never uploaded and no input history is saved. Explicit units and assumptions make the result easier to check. No account or remote processing is needed.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

Does this resize a photo or change its DPI metadata?

No. It calculates dimensions only. Use Image Resizer to change an image’s pixels. No file is uploaded or read.

Why PPI instead of printer DPI?

PPI is image pixels per printed inch. Printer DPI is ink dots per inch. One image pixel may be represented by many printer dots, so printer DPI alone does not determine image pixel dimensions.

How are fractional pixels handled?

Required image dimensions round to the nearest whole pixel, with half rounded up. The exact calculation and resulting physical dimensions are shown. Dimensions that would round below one pixel are rejected.

Why can horizontal and vertical PPI differ?

The supplied image and print rectangles may have different aspect ratios. The tool reports both axes instead of silently stretching or cropping.

Are my values uploaded or saved?

No. Calculations stay in this browser page and inputs are not persisted. Only the theme preference is saved. Copy and report download happen only when you choose.
