Fit preserves drawing proportions inside these dimensions; it is not a 1:1 CAD scale. A small stroke/point allowance is added to the margin. Near-white lines become dark on white/transparent; black lines become light on dark. Other CAD colors may have low contrast.

This displays the actual SVG download, scaled to fit this panel. The checkerboard indicates transparency and is not exported. Approximate text can vary between devices; review labels and margins.

Drawing report

Supported 2D model-space lines, ordinary polylines/bulges, circles/arcs/ellipses, points, solids, projected 3DFACE wireframes, basic text and bounded inserts/arrays. Curves are sampled at 5°; text uses system fonts and simplified formatting/alignment. Hatches, splines, dimensions, meshes, paper layouts, non-default extrusion coordinates and external references are not reproduced. Nonzero Z may project to XY. Linetypes, lineweights and CAD fonts are not exact. SVG contains fitted vector paths and optional text, not editable CAD entities. Keep the original DXF and verify critical work in CAD software.

    A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use DXF to SVG

    1. Choose a text DXF file or load the example drawing. Review the supported-geometry report.
    2. Select layers and optional text. Set SVG width, height, margin, background and line width. The drawing fits proportionally.
    3. Inspect the actual SVG preview and any approximation warnings, then download the SVG and optional conversion report.

    Why use this tool?

Your drawing is never uploaded to any server; all parsing, conversion and previews run locally in your browser. Layer controls and an actual export preview help you review the result before saving.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

    A few things worth knowing

Is the SVG a lossless CAD conversion?

No. This is a supported 2D model-space representation. Curves use 5-degree sampling, text uses approximate system fonts, and unsupported entities are skipped and reported. Linetypes, lineweights, layouts and CAD fonts are not preserved exactly. Keep your original DXF.

Does this preserve the drawing scale?

Geometry proportions are preserved while fitting the chosen pixel dimensions and margin. Declared DXF units are reported, but the SVG is not exported at a certified 1:1 engineering scale.

Can it open DWG or very large files?

No DWG or binary DXF. Text DXF files are limited to 10 MiB with bounded parsing and geometry, 12-second processing stages and a 20 MB SVG export limit. Unsupported or overly complex drawings produce explicit reports or errors.

    Can I export transparent SVGs?

Yes. Choose Transparent. The preview checkerboard is not exported. Near-white strokes become dark for readability; other original CAD colors may have low contrast on your destination background.
