Move the phase. Sweep the notches. Local audio · no uploads

No file selected.

Up to 128 MiB per file; decoded audio up to 256 MiB (about 23 min mono / 11½ min stereo). Formats depend on your browser's decoder. Working audio and WAV exports use 48 kHz.

Source waveform

Your waveform will appear here.

Click the waveform to seek, or use the adjacent transport and exact time controls. Settings apply live. Stateful effects restart their history at the cursor; full-file output is authoritative. Output keeps original duration without an appended tail.

Playback stopped.

Phaser settings

Uncheck to compare original decoded audio. Exports always use selected settings.

Speed of the logarithmic all-pass sweep.
Lower sweep endpoint. Equal endpoints give a static phase shift.
Upper endpoint, at or above the lower endpoint.
Signed resonance feedback, bounded to ±60%. Strong settings can build peaks.
Linear original/processed blend. 0% is original audio; output trim still applies where provided.
Applied to the complete result. Boosts can clip; there is no automatic normalization.

Quick sliders pause for finer exact values; the exact field remains usable.

Output duration (unchanged)Choose audioChoose settings.

The original file stays unchanged.

Monitoring only; this does not affect export.

Four, six or eight first-order all-pass stages share a geometric frequency sweep. Live controls and stage weights transition smoothly. Seeking resets filter and feedback history. Filter ringing is cut at the source end; no tail is appended.

ACTUAL PROCESSED WAV

Hear and download the result

Create a WAV to preview the actual result.

48 kHz · 16-bit PCM WAV · original channels and frame count. Effect settings do not change the container format. Input up to 128 MiB; source/output float buffers each up to 256 MiB, subject to device memory. Final PCM clipping is counted. Tags/artwork are omitted. Settings changes clear exports; Stop terminates the local worker. No source or settings are sent to a server.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use Phaser

  1. Choose or drop audio, or try the sample. Wait for the filename, size and ready status.
  2. Choose a preset or adjust the visible controls. Review the effect-specific notes and output summary.
  3. Press Play preview and adjust settings live. Seek using the waveform or adjacent transport; uncheck processing to compare original audio.
  4. Create the processed WAV, listen to the actual output and download it. Editing settings invalidates previous exports.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Why use this tool?

Your audio is never uploaded to any server. Decoding, effect processing, playback and WAV encoding run locally with self-hosted code. Source files stay unchanged, with no account or audio history.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

How does this effect work?

Four, six or eight first-order all-pass stages share a geometric frequency sweep. Live controls and stage weights transition smoothly. Seeking resets filter and feedback history. Filter ringing is cut at the source end; no tail is appended.

Do changes affect playback live?

Yes. Settings are delivered to the playing local AudioWorklet without restarting the source. Continuous controls use short smoothing transitions; discrete bit/hold changes intentionally step. Exports apply current fixed settings, not a recording of knob movements. Original comparison affects monitoring only.

Does this change duration, channels or output format?

No. The original working frame count and mono/stereo channel count remain. Output is always 48 kHz, 16-bit PCM WAV. No tail is appended; filter ringing can be trimmed at the end. Tags/artwork are omitted. The actual encoded waveform/player must load before download enables.

What happens when I seek or resume?

Stateful filters and gain envelopes restart at the chosen cursor. Their startup can differ from a full-file export. Use the actual generated WAV for the complete fixed-settings result.

What are the file and processing limits?

One mono/stereo file up to 128 MiB, decoded at 48 kHz within a 256 MiB float budget. Output has its own 256 MiB float budget; device memory may impose lower limits. Browser decoder support varies. Live AudioWorklet needs HTTPS or localhost and a supported browser. Stop/edit/clear/replacement terminates export and discards obsolete results.
