Test controls

Ready. Start explicitly to begin.

Click Start, then focus the test area. Press keys individually or in combinations. Tab leaves the area; Escape stops capture.

What this test can show

Events are captured only while the labelled keyboard test area is focused. The visual reference uses physical US-layout event.code positions; your operating-system layout determines key labels. Browser/OS-reserved shortcuts, Fn, some media keys and hardware ghosting may not be observable. Tab moves focus normally; Escape ends capture. Key labels are not logged or exported as typed text.

Why use this tool?

These tools run locally and do not upload your device observations, camera video, microphone input or interaction events. There are no accounts or stored test histories. Camera and microphone access stays under browser permission controls.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

What does this test measure?

Events are captured only while the labelled keyboard test area is focused. The visual reference uses physical US-layout event.code positions; your operating-system layout determines key labels. Browser/OS-reserved shortcuts, Fn, some media keys and hardware ghosting may not be observable. Tab moves focus normally; Escape ends capture. Key labels are not logged or exported as typed text.

Can the website certify my hardware is working?

No. The browser exposes a limited set of events and reported settings. Inspect or listen to the actual result and compare with other applications if needed. Missing browser events or unavailable features do not prove a hardware failure.

What happens when I stop or leave?

Active input capture, audio playback and camera/microphone tracks are released on Stop, hidden tab, workspace switching and page exit. Pending permission results are ignored and late tracks stopped. Reports download only when explicitly chosen.
