Primary table

UTF-8 · 1 MiB / 200,000 UTF-16 units. Invalid imports keep previous working text.

Strict rectangular tables · ≤5,000 total records · 200 columns · 100,000 data cells. No formulas are calculated.

Tool controls

Choose the input delimiter and a different output delimiter. TSV uses the same quote/escape convention as CSV.

Export settings

Protection changes affected exported cells; previews show the original working values. Quoting alone does not stop spreadsheet formula interpretation. Original files are never overwritten.

    A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use CSV to TSV and TSV to CSV

    1. Paste text or choose a local UTF-8 file. Review its filename, size and loading/ready/error status. Choose the input delimiter and header policy.
    2. Read source to inspect the actual table. Select columns or tool settings, then Apply tool. Editor changes apply directly to the working grid.
    3. Check the working result, all row/column pages and actual generated output. Preview search does not remove rows from downloads.
    4. Download only when the current result is ready. CSV protection is explicit; original files stay unchanged. Reset or switching releases local data.

    Why use this tool?

Your table data is never uploaded to any server. All parsing, editing, cleaning, charts and exports happen locally in your browser using self-hosted code. No account or spreadsheet service is required.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

    A few things worth knowing

    Does this calculate spreadsheet formulas?

No. CSV and TSV cells are text values. Formulas, macros, HTML and links are never executed. Optional formula protection prefixes risky exported cells with an apostrophe; that intentionally changes those export values.

What files and limits are supported?

UTF-8 text files up to 1 MiB and 200,000 UTF-16 units. Tables must be rectangular: up to 5,000 total records, 200 columns and 100,000 data cells. Output is bounded to 2,000,000 UTF-16 units. This tool does not open XLSX/XLS workbooks or preserve workbook formulas/styles.

Do preview filters change the exported data?

No. Find and preview pagination only change the visible portion. All working rows and columns remain in exports. Transformations require Apply tool; cell edits in the Editor update its working table directly.

Is any source data stored or sent elsewhere?

No. Processing stays in this page. Failed imports retain previous working text; replacing or editing sources invalidates old outputs. Reset, page exit or switching the workspace releases application data. Copies you download or put on the clipboard remain outside this cleanup.
